I adore this place.
Anytime I have visitors in town, I take them here - but give no context about where we are going except "spanish tapas." And it is always such a surprising treat!
This is a small place, so if you are going on a holiday or weekend, I highly recommend calling for a reservation. Service is always fantastic.
I highly recommend the: bacon wrapped dates, bread with tomato, garlic shrimp, chorizo cooked in wine, and the vegetable platter. I truly have never tried one of the entrees here, because I am always down to share a bunch of small plates.
Overall, such a unique but DELICIOUS location!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1Business owner information

I heard about this tucked away Spanish tapas place attached to a gas station forever. Today was my first visit. All tables were full, but I was able to instantly sit at a casual, small bar area. To my surprise this was one of the nicest gas stations I've ever seen. It's more of a gas station mart, meets legit wine store, meets decent full service tapas y tintos restaurant.
Food was surprising good. I enjoyed the Spanish tortilla, papas bravas, Serrano ham, a Spanish chorizo and chickpea dish as well as a pan con tomate. It came out as it was ready and pretty fast. Service was efficient, friendly.
I had to second glance the bill in a good way. This place is totally worth it and I'd return. It was also convenient because I needed gas upon leaving. Worth a visit!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Have heard about this tapas spot for ages and it did not disappoint!! The ambiance is absolutely gorgeous and the tapas were all excellent - I truly cannot pick a favorite. It is so fun to peruse the library of wines, all sorted by country of origin. Come with family, friends, or a date to enjoy!

This spot is located right by a gas station but don't be surprise when I tell you how good the food is, OMG!
It is tapas style , very flavorful , and authentic. You are also able to select a bottle of wine and they charge $10 to open it while you dine.
They have a variety of tasting menus and a great lunch menu.
Yadira was such a great server and had great recommendations.
I would recommend getting the croquetas, their paella, and their octopus !
The vibe is very traditional and a good place to bring your family.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

El Carajo Miami Restaurant offers a welcoming family-friendly atmosphere that exceeded my expectations. While it's located in an industrial area, the indoor decor is lively and inviting. This is a great spot if you're looking for a casual dining experience with the family.
The menu features classic Spanish cuisine at reasonable prices. We tried the boquerones, octopus, caldo gallego and croquetas, which all tasted fresh and authentic. The portions are generous - perfect for sharing family-style. While the food isn't necessarily outstanding, it's solidly good comfort food at fair prices.
The friendly wait staff aim to please and can accommodate medium size groups (6).
Overall, El Carajo is ideal for no-frills family dining. The warm ambiance and hearty Spanish food at fair prices make it a nice choice for a casual meal with loved ones. It exceeded my expectations for a family-friendly Spanish restaurant located in an gas station.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 22, 2023
I alway love going to this place. It's a wine /tapas restaurant in a gasoline station on SW 17th Avenue and US1 in Miami. Florida. The ambiance is alway whatever you want it to be. You can dress up or just hang with friends.
Tonight we got there with no reservation. You really do need one. The place is small but they found us two chairs at the smallest bar ever. A perfect, incredible, amazing time was had by all!
The waitress, Lydia, was amazing. She took time to make sure my husband understood what wine to pick (a red) and she expertly knew that a red sangria was in my future.
We picked the "Combinacion Meson". With cured pork loin, Serrano ham, Spanish chorizo and manchego cheese. It came with olives and candies nuts. Yum!
We also picked the "Albóndigas" which are angus beef, pork and chorizo meatballs.
The meal came with a small but delicious sour dough artisanal loaf of bread. My husband soaked up the sauce that came with the meatballs with this bread. Such a great taste.
We finished with the "Crema Catalan". It is just the perfect amount of sugar. For a dessert, it's really well done. I get this every time I go there.
If you have never come here, please come. It is an incredible place to experience. The bar only has four chairs (I think) but always moving and always fun.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1299645Jul 18, 2023
Is it sad that I just left, and I already wanna come back? Okay now this is definitely a "hole in a gas station". Who would we ever thought this would be here?!
Anyways, came for dinner and we were sat right away. Since it was our first time the waiter was kind to go through the menu and her suggestions. And also explained to us how to get a bottle of wine. Basically you walk up to the wine displays, and pick your bottle! The prices are listed under each one. Love it. Gives you a real one on one time with the bottles so you can read the labels and whatnot. It's a very cute small restaurant with all the Spain vibes you need. They have ambient Spanish guitar going on in the background which is so nice. Feels like you're in a cave. (In a good way). All the food we ordered came out quick and was fresh. Really tasty and went great with the wine. Definitely recommend checking them outHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Prepare yourself to be transported to a whole different world when walking past the gas pumps and cash register, through the wine market and into this little gem of a restaurant. With its painted arches and warm cellar feel, I felt like I was in the Spanish countryside eating tapas.
The plates are sensibly priced, so you can get 3-4 to share in your party of 2. Larger groups can be accommodated at the high top table. There is a very sensible $10 corkage fee, so you can peruse and pick out your bottle from the walls and walls of vino and enjoy it at a fraction of a cost when normally dining out.
The food is on point. I like the bacon covered dates, any of the pulpo dishes, and the paella never fails. Bear in mind the paella is made to order and takes a bit of time to prepare, so put that order in first and be prepared to wait and munch on some smaller bites.
On weekends especially, make sure to make a reservation to avoid any long wait times - the seating is limited but well worth the wait!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
