I live in Seattle and about 30 years ago a restaurant by the same name opened at a recently closed Shakey's location. It was the best Mexican food in the region. Unfortunately prices got high and the restaurant either went out of business or the owners sold out as a new inferior restaurant took their place.

When I knew I was going to be in Portland I started looking for Mexican food and was pleased when I saw a restaurant with the same name with extremely high reviews.

Thinking lunch would be our play, I checked out the website, but for some reason, they don't have a lunch menu online. We decided to risk it and we are glad we did. The place was busy and after talking to someone on her headset, the host sat us in the bar. After a long wait, we were getting ready to leave when someone finally came with chips and salsa. The basket of chips was mostly crumbs, but we made do. The salsa was zesty, but didn't have the kick I needed. There was a salsa bar in the entrance and the red salsa on the bar was really good and let me know someone appreciated rich flavor. The bean dip was also 10/10. Normally I don't get excited about bean dip, but this was phenomenal.

The portion was hearty for a lunch serving reminding me that reviews claimed there was a good chance you would have leftovers. I was hungry and the food was delicious, so there was no chance I was leaving without a clean plate. The carnitas were juicy, tender and flavorful, but I tend to prefer a fried version instead of just roasted. Either way, it was 9/10, near flawless and based on the poor Carnitas I've had elsewhere, I truly wished this place was close to me. It would be a weekly stop.

Service was slow, but the food was worth the issues and wait, if I could give any advice, it would be better communication. People had radios and used them, but service was still slow and sloppy. Improve the service and you will have to be reservations only because you have too much business.

The food is good, but one thing to be noted is the portions are huge, so you may need a to-go box if you can't finish your plate.
The service is surprisingly fast and the staff is friendly and cordial.
The ambiance is really nice here, this is definitely one of my new favorite Mexican restaurants. The interior is decorated well with elements of Mexican culture (as this is a Mexican restaurant). What i thought was cool is some is the chairs have unique landscapes painted on them, which not only adds the ascetic, but also gives the restaurant a more Mexican feel.
Overall i would recommend this restaurant & would come here again.

I've been looking for good Mexican food like this for a while in the Portland area, and Si Senor really hit the mark for me! Everything was super flavorful, and not too expensive ($14 for sangria, around $28 for steak fajitas). Our server was fabulous, super kind and attentive, and the decor in the restaurant was cute and inviting! Wait time was about 25/30 mins for a walk up on a Saturday night!

      I'll absolutely be coming back!

The food was amazing as it always is. The service was great. There's a lady who helps us every time and she always gets a good tip. I wish I knew her name.
The review is lower because I had ordered a lemonade and my server had asked if I wanted peach or strawberry lemonade instead and I had agreed on strawberry. I was not aware until the check came that the flavored lemonade was $5 extra. Now maybe I should've asked but typically if a server is offering a different option for a different price, they'll tell you. That was not the case here.
They did offer to remove the $10 lemonade so that was greatly appreciated.
Hopefully this will improve with all the new employees who were training today.
Besides that we had a blast there and the food was as amazing.

What a fun and cute spot! We ordered a side of guac to start and mannn was this fresh! The free chips and salsa came with this amazinggg bean dip. We honestly loved the bean dip. Then I ordered the Titos tacos and it was loaded with beef and beans and guac! Ri ordered the Mole Enchiladas and wowww the portions are HUGE! The rice and beans plus the cheese was so flavorful and tasty. Overall the price was relatively inexpensive based on the huge portions they gave us.

Staff were super friendly, and the interior was super nice and festive. It's a nice sit down restaurant.

A girlfriend and I decided to go here for HH. We were sat immediately in the restaurant area. The nice thing is the happy hour is in the bar or restaurant area. They had a nice selection on their HH menu. We were served fresh chips, salsa and beans. We ordered the ceviche shrimp tostadas, three tacos and chicken taquitos. The shrimp tostadas were fresh and light. Everything was well prepared and yummy. The service was also great.

Awesome food. Reyes was our server and was outstanding. This place was packed on Thursday night, every parking spot was filled.

They are generous with their chips & salsa. They also serve refried beans with it, haven't seen that before.

      Margarita was big and delicious.

A friend suggested Si Senor as a meeting place for lunch. Service was excellent, and we each had an easy time finding what we wanted on the menu.
Chips and salsa hit just the right notes - the salsa had enough kick to be interesting, without being painful. They came with a warm bowl of refried beans as well, a perfect accompaniment.
My only quibble, and it is a minor one, is that lunch combos appear to have chicken, shredded beef, and ground beef as the only options. Other items, like cochinita or pastor would be nice to have, but I'm certain that the economics of including them in a lunch special would be impractical.
The shredded beef chimichanga made two very filling, enjoyable meals.

It's a fun place for a group but $200 for four people to eat ok food (nothing close to real Mexican or even Tex-Mex) and drinks is a bit steep. Over $7 for a SIDE of guacamole?!?
It was a Friday night and pretty packed so the service wasn't the quickest, but understandably a bit slow.
Not my favorite place but I'd go back with a group of friends, preferably during HH for better pricing.
